Example Itinerary

Arrive at The Nasio Trust Guesthouse in Musanda. Be given an orientation around the Nasio site and GMK medical centre and have an introduction to Nasio’s work.

Shadow staff at a local Level 4 hospital as they do their patient rounds.

Shadow staff at the GMK medical centre as they carry out their roles. In the afternoon, take part in a peer education session focussing on sexual reproductive health, mental health, and teenage pregnancy. Debrief at the end of the day to reflect on the day’s work.

Take part in a seminar with doctors at a local hospital to learn about health challenges in rural communities. In the afternoon, continue shadowing staff as they complete their patient rounds.

After breakfast, help with the delivery of a jigger campaign in the local community. After lunch, join the social work team on a family home visit, where you’ll have the chance to speak with the family and be welcomed to their home.

Cook and serve breakfast for St Irene children before church. Walk with the children to church, and then take part in the service. Enjoy an afternoon of rest before heading down to Bukaya rock to watch the amazing sunset.

Take part in the spirulina harvesting process in the morning. Learn how spirulina helps support communities by helping with proper nutrition. After lunch, return to the GMK medical centre. Shadow staff on the maternity ward to learn about maternal health.
Spend a day at Noah’s Ark or St Irene’s. Serve breakfast, support classroom learning, join playtime, and help teachers prepare resources. A rewarding chance to inspire and connect with children.
Depart Nasio via Kisumu Masai Market, before beginning your journey back home.
